MTBE Methyl Tertiary Butyl Ether lawyers in Massachusetts

MTBE, or methyl tertiary butyl ether, is a gasoline additive introduced in the 1990s.
Most people did not care about it until it contaminated drinking water. It is water soluble and as underground gasoline tanks developed leaks, MTBE quickly contaminated water supplies.
Rhode Island and Massachusetts have passed legislation banning or limiting the sale of MTBE.
MTBE may cause various kinds of illness with respiratory, neurological, cardiac, or allergic symptoms. Can also cause anxiety, dizziness, nausea, headaches, attention deficit disorder, or skin rash.
MTBE does not breakdown easily and is difficult and costly to remove from ground water.
