Station Fire

Our office represents numerous families of victims from the tragedy of the Station Fire that occurred in West Warwick RI on February 23,2003. Since that time litigation has commenced in the Federal Court in Providence RI against approximatey 90 defendants, which is ongoing.

As of 12/20/07, however, several of the defendants have offered approximately $20,000,000.00 to settle the claims pending against them. Toward that end Professor McGovern, an expert in catastrophic litigation involving multiple parties, has been appointed by Judge Lageux to devise a system for the equitable distribution of settlement funds. A meeting has been set up with Professor McGovern for December 28,2007 to discuss how he intends to approach the distribution of settlement funds. Per my letter to our clients, all are invited to attend.
